There are REASONS for men and women to have different roles!!

On Sat. morning Tarzan had a track meet and he thought it would be a nice treat for the runners to load up on some deliciouls carbs...(cinnamon rolls). When he thought this process through, it seemed great. He was up and at it around 530am baking in the kitchen and the aromas of cinnamon, sugar, and butter filled the air. When the peircing sound of our smoke detector went off, I no longer smelled that night smell but burned sugar. I continued to lay lazily in bed b/c there was no smoke in the bedroom and within 30 sec. he turned off the alarm... He kissed me goodbye and was out the door. When Taz woke up that moring around 730am, we walked in the kitchen for our daily breakfast...

What we saw was a woman's worst nightmare!!!

There was cinnamon sugar all over the counter, dripping on the floor, on top of the stove,  along with two pans full of the same stuff with 6 burned rolls. It looked as if it was cupcake war which had gone wrong!  Bless his heart, he was really trying. I was sick with the stomach bug, the children were, and I had no energy. I cleaned the mess up and three days later I went to bake some bread in the oven and the house began to be filled with smoke... I hadn't put anything into the oven yet! It was the cinnamon sugar at the bottom of the oven. GRRR.... I cleaned it out and tried again the next day to find it was still smokey, it had dripped below the pan of the oven where it lights (GAS stove).

I wish I had pictures of before and after. This is why it is better for a woman to cook indoors and a man to cook outdoors. I think in one moment of the mess I wanted to strangle the man which flies from tree to tree but on the other hand he was trying to be helpful with the youth's track meet. That's the part that makes my heart smile. His willingness to serve others and be a witness! Love my Tarzan!

"oh what a night"

The piercing scream awoke me from my sleep. As I laid there to figure what was going on with Giraffe, Tarzan was up and to the rescue. Not to mention, we had only been asleep for maybe 2 1/2 hours before the scream and sleep seemed to be so nice... Wednesdays are always crazy for us due to church and the late Awana nights so each minute of sleep seemed to needed for our thurs. adventures. Her scream would make you think someone had someone had broke in to the house and attacked her but instead of an outside attacker, she had a bug inside of her which was trying to come out. She changed our carpet colors, smelled up the house, and took 2 baths in four hours of what seemed to be her endless vomiting. When 530 am struck, the bug was out of her system leaving her and Tarzan exhausted on the couch.

When morning hit, it was like any other day except while Taz was sitting at the breakfast table after a hug blowout from the bottom which ended in the bathtub, and the bug had entered into him. He didn't cry but was more annoyed because he was still hungry so he screamed for "more" food. After I tackled the local grocery store for all the Gatorade they had in stock, I came home in time for Taz to puke like a professional with all his hard work to have food stay down. He was mad because he once again wanted to replace food. Tarzan cleaned up his mess and stuck him in the bath only for me to do the steam of the entire downstairs. Two hours later, house was cleaned, aired, ready for yet whatever comes. In the moment of all this, I thank God for my children and my husband to get us through a crazy day.
